I am now arrived and established in Cape Town and involved in evangelism in the
Sea Point area of Cape Town. This is a main shopping street that leads directly to the giant Football Stadium that is about one klm away.
The Lord has been good to me. Here are a couple of important needs I had that the Lord truly encouraged me in…
- When I left home I still had some work to do on a new aluminium portable sketch board I had been constructing so I was praying I would be able to get that done before my onward flight to Cape Town. In Johannesburg the Lord arranged for me to stay with a lovely Italian/SA family. Mario is a toolmaker and his workshop adjoined the house. In it was every conceivable tool, pop rivets (boxes of 1,000 in various sizes), clamps, grinders, drills, etc that one could ever need! So it was a breeze to get the job done! (Some homes I visit don’t even have a hammer or a screwdriver). Thank you Lord!

- I was dreading the 2 weeks of sleeping on the floor in a cold church basement or something like that – (this is what I was expecting). Instead 8 others and I are staying in a fantastic penthouse on a beautiful foreshore at Hout Bay overlooking some of the most beautiful scenery in South Africa. I have my own room, comfortable bed and magnificent scenery. How good is that? Once again… Thank You Lord!
Mind you I have only made use of the room for a few hours each night with our days filled with travelling, witnessing, outreach, etc.
One night we did outreach with the team in the nightclub district and I didn’t get to bed until 1.30am and then was up again at 5.45am for a busy day of meetings and outreach.

The first day we arrived we did a prayer-walk to the stadium and back with the team. It took an hour and ½ to do 1 klm each way. Apart from praying for the souls of needy people who live here and all the visiting fans we stopped and engaged in conversations with so many, sharing Gospel literature and the message of Jesus Christ. After the football game, which was screened in the church to visitors who came in off the streets, (more opportunity to share Christ with them), we went out on the streets again to witness. How encouraging to see, due to the team’s efforts, 5 souls saved on the streets during those first few hours of evangelism. Since then we have seen many more trust in Christ.

Part of our team who came with me to the Sunday church service
On Sunday morning I spoke at a local church meeting.

4 people were baptised
What a joy to be involved together with South African believers as we reach out to the needy lost of this world. I took some of our team with me and they gave testimonies during the service. As well as having us take part in the service they also had 2 baby dedications and 4 people baptised.

Yesterday we went to an Aids Orphanage. It was great to show the love of Jesus to these children in many ways. Some of the girls on the team changed, bathed and fed the kids. I was able to do some Gospel magic and share the way of Salvation with these children and that was a great joy!
What a joy it is to be serving the Lord here. Please continue to pray for me and the team as we train, minister and share the Gospel in South Africa during the World Cup.
